Five stops through Plymouth’s most iconic locations. From sweeping views on the Hoe to the symmetry of Elizabethan garden design, every stop reveals mathematics woven into the fabric of the city.

Open space & Estimation
The Plymouth Hoe
Sweeping views across Plymouth Sound. Count the benches, estimate distances, and spot geometric shapes stretching from the headland to the horizon.

History, Symmetry & Fractions
The Mayflower Steps
The Pilgrims departed from this very spot in 1620. History through numbers: 102 passengers, one quarter of them children, one ocean crossing.

The Barbican
Plymouth’s historic waterfront: parallel lines in the cobbled lanes, perpendicular walls, and angles hiding in the harbour boats and buildings.
